That is, only if getting such markings is considered wrong. We can obviously begin to notice that Hillsong follows a very extreme form of Christianity. For the past 6,000 years we watch as civilization attaches their different God's to material items. Yet, only within the past 50 years have we been able to move away from attaching God to worldly things (such as music, clothing, physical appearance.) We should learn as a society that God is less concerned with how we look and rather who we are.

I would believe that it is safe to assume Joel new exactly what he was doing when getting the tattoo.

Many people, including celebrities, Christians, and other people of other labels, have chosen body art. It is seen as individual expression, not really a result of not thinking, being drunk or (for most) as a sign of belonging to a group.

I know people who have tattoos reflecting their love of cats, Hello Kitty, flowers, Greek art, philosophy of life, memorials to people who meant a lot to them, and as a talisman to help them remember things that are important to them.

nah he knew full well what he was doing n he jus wanted a tattoo he was a christian when he got it. i rekon its beta kidz look up to him than sumone lyk jack black or Amy winehouse right??!

what if he got his tattoo when he was still young and stupid,wasn't thinking and just wanted to try anything AND NOW that he already past that stage and want to be the best man God wants him to be, you tell me that he's a bad role model? what can he do about his tattoo? laser costs alot and painful, YOU try it

it's like a bad guy who has a juvie record once and now he wants to be a man of God, does his juvie record makes him worse or unworthy in God's eyes? no, cos Jesus died on the cross, does the fact that he did a terrible crime in the past make him less-of-a-christian than you are? NO, cos God doesnt care about his past, but his decision, devotion, determination and his faith now, THOSE what counts.

God is more interested in the inner man than the outer one. It would be more beneficial for people to ask Jesus into their heart and to find out what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus, than to get all religious over a tattoo. Stay focussed and be blessed.
