Pokemon Diamond how to catch lapras?

you catch lapras in victory road after you beat the elite four and get the national pokedex in victory there will be a guy standing by a door that leads you to where you catch lapras (and shaymin if have oaks letter) he will not be there if you have beaten the elite four and have the national pokedex if you go in there will be a room get through there and you will have a girl named Marley she will ask you if you will help her get through the cave heip her then go back to where you met Marley then go down a little staircase and do a puzzle then there will be a small body of water swin in their and you should find a lapras.

On heartgold, soulsilver, crystal, gold, and silver versions go to union cave on Friday and at the entrance (coming from 33) go up until you reach the part where you can go up or go to the left. Take the left part and follow it until you hit the wall. Surf the bottom pool of water and go down the stairs. Surf across the water and take the set of stairs. Use surf on the water and go down until you get to a split in the water that leads to the right and down. Go down until you reach a four way split. Take the path to the left. Follow it down and surf the pool of water to the right and lapras should be there.

After you get the National Dex, go into Victory Road Cave. When you get in the cave, go to Basement Floor 1 (BF1) and surf intil you find a Lapras. If you do not know where Basement Floor 1 is, its the only floor with water.

It's in Victory Road and you need the National Dex. When you go through the back way there is a tunnel thing that a guy used to be blocking. You need to help Marley through the cave ( she only has Arcanine but she heals your Pokemon for you ) By the way you have to take her through a new way and you end up in route 224. Once you have taken her through you can go back in the cave and surf. you gotta go past the big waterfall and everything and eventually you will come to a place where you can find Lapras. you catch it in victory road(the same rules that i am writing will also work on Pokemon pearl)

you need-

-surf, rockclimb,dig, and rock smash

so you just have to search around there, and be sure to check everywhere!
