You cannot. Shiny Gold is a modified version of Pokemon Gold made by a fan. They have placed them characters there as a placeholder until they update the game. To remove them you will need to check if a new version of the ROM has been released yet.

In Shiny Gold which is a ROM hack of fire red. In SHINY gold version haunter evolves via lvl up the official Pokemon Community thread indicates so (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=74447) in the Q&A near the bottom Zel did not specify at which level though.

No you don't, I helped my friend create the game Pokemon shiny gold while i was in Mexico with out a ROM but to copy a game you make sure you go to a safe website to get the ROM, the ROM ins't a CD but you can burn it onto one. YOu will need several things like an ips file and all that fun stuff i am constantly posting more Pokemon games without the use of a ROM but you can use one to copy or make it. Hint copy a game don't make one.

First: Pokemon Shiny Gold is a hacked Pokemon game. Don't waste your money on junk like that in the future. Second: As it's hacked you can't get to the Kanto Region. You can access it by beating the Elite Four on Pokemon Crystal. I advise you not to play Shiny Gold as my friend's DS couldn't work after playing on it for more than a week. How do you get shiny Pokemon on Pokemon platnium?
You can catch them (1/8000ish wild pokemon are shiny). You can trade to get them (people normally want shiny for shiny though). You can use pokesav if you have an nds rom and edit your pokemon manually. This is the same if you use a ds emu (a version of the ds that you can play on your computer) or if you've bought an r4 card (this is a fake ds cartridge that you can put sd cards into, by saving ds 'rom' games you can play games on your ds).
