you can get a sun stone in emerald and you can get it later in the game when you get to messodeep city. when you beat the gym leader ( i would recromend using water type pokemon) you go south then east and you will see team magma GO INTO THE SPACE CENTER and beat team magma after you do that there is a guy that will give you a sun stone somewhere. i think he is at the bottom left of the floor when you walk into the space center.. if im wrong then look around and talk to the people in the space center...when you get it you fly to lillycove city and you go west..(left) then you can catch a gloom when you reach the 1st patch of grass west of lillycove city. then you can use it on gloom and you can get a ballossom.
