A young 12 year old boy named Percy Jackson goes to school on a regular day. He vaporized his math teacher Mrs. Dodds who turns out to be an Underworld monster.

His mother takes him to camp with his best friend Grover who is a satyr and gets attacked by a Minotaur. He fails to save his mother and kills the beast. Percy passed out and wakes up in a cabin getting fed with ambrosia, the food for the gods, by Annabeth Chase. He is at camp for half-bloods meaning half human and half god. He is determined that he is the Son of Poseidon and goes on a quest to clear his name of stealing Zeus's lightning bolt. He takes his friends as guidance.

He will need to get to Hades before the summer solstice. He meets with unfriendly enemies like Medusa, Furies, and a hotel that makes you to never leave. He figures out that Hades doesn't have the Lightning Bolt and the Underground god does not have his Helm. He recovers it and gets back his mother by defeating Ares and making him his god enemy (which is bad).

He goes to Olympus and revived the Lightning Bolt to Zeus. Seeing his father Poseidon, they had a little conversation. He goes back to camp and finds out that Luke is a traitor. Luke tried to kill Percy with a scorpion so Percy had an almost death experience until his friends found him and healed him. They go off to meet next summer and Percy's mom is revived from the Underworld.
