A few themes for, specifically the Grimm brothers version, of Cinderella would be:

Don't judge a book by its cover. Referring to the beautiful stepsisters who's hearts held much arrogance and evil.

Hard work pays off. Cinderella had to do all the housework and help her sisters dress while they only gave her harder tasks once she had completed any they previously gave. Her reward being that in the end she was able to marry the prince.

What goes around comes around. The step sisters treated Cinderella very badly and had their eyes pecked out by the birds.

Cheating is not the answer. When the Stepsisters tried the put on the tiny shoe their feet would not fit. They cut off their heel and some toes in order to fit into the shoe but the prince realized he was being deceived and they never married the prince.
