While not in the same league with such Alkies as Dean Martin, or Peter Lawford- who used to say nasty things about Gina when he was ( lit up) Miss Garland did drink, as do many celebs, and more importantly had a gross Drug problem- even Mad Magazine did a snickering satire - a parody on one of her songs- with the added lyric- And the trip that i"m taking- will mean my mind has gone! unfortunately Judy was dead by the time this hit the newstands. It was widely known that JG did drugs.

∙ 14y agoNot in the usual sense, but she was drug addict, which ultimately cost her her life, she did have Cirrhosis of the liver, a known occupational hazard of alkies- and almost got involved in a fatal auto accident but managed to get home, went to bed- and de facto died in her sleep- rather than behind the wheel of her Volkswagen. all of this happened in June of l969. see the Mickey Deans tome- Weep no More, My Lady, it is as the title suggests, a sad narrative of a dying movie star.
