yes they did. actually they got superman's fathers name from an older comic they did. Addendum: They created Superman when they were teenagers living in Cleveland, Ohio. They named Superman's father, Jor-El, after themselves (JOE Shuster and JERry SiegEL). Superman's secret identity, Clark Kent, was named after Clark Gable and Kent Taylor, two movie actors of the 1930s whom they admired. Superman's girlfriend, Lois Lane, was named after Lois Amster, a girl that Jerry had a crush on in high school.

Superman and Batman know each other"s strengths and weaknesses, that Batman is merely an athletic strongman crime-fighter sans super powers, and Batman knows Superman"s secret identity and probably has access to the Fortress of Solitude, or at least the Museum portion of the base! Only Jimmy Olsen and of course Supergirl had (access passes)Lois was taken there as a visitor but not a full (access) so much for women"s rights.
