It's said that Abe Lincoln, Joe Stalin and Elizabeth 1 of England all survived survived the disease. But the most famous has to be the un-named milk maids who didn't seem to get the dreaded "pox" at all, and gave Jenner the idea to bang someone full of cowpox to see what happens. That someone I believe was a 14 year old boy, obviously not "important enough" to record for history, vaccination was born.
