I used these: Tentacruel, Lucario, Torterra, Staraptor, Luxray and Infernape.
I recommend getting all of your Pokemon into a high level, like in the 55-70s. Also, make the types a variety and also study the elite 4's Pokemon. Also practice. Get many strategies.
i use moltres, articuno, zapdos, origin forme giratina, dialga and palkia all level 100
There is are no certain Pokemon needed to defeat the elite four. Just use your strongest Pokemon.
defeat 10 times the elite four and catch mewtwo and use scape rope and go to profesor oak
It will be part of the plot to get Zekrom later in the game at N's castle, but you cannot use it for anything else. You will see after you defeat the Elite Four.
The first trainer of the elite four is a bug type trainer, so i would recomend a fire type Pokemon. If you don't have one, then use a rock type. Make sure to buy lots of full restores and revives. Make sure your Pokemon have a good defense and a good base attack, or else you will get burned, poisoned, or even frozen or paralized. The second trainer is a groung type trainer so use a grass or water type. Make sure you switch your Pokemon and save the game after you beat a member of the elite four. And remember to heal your Pokemon too. Use electric or grass Pokemon to get passed the ground trainers water Pokemon. The third trainer is a fire type trainer so use a water or ground type Pokemon. Use a fire type Pokemon to defeat his drifblim Pokemon. The fourth and final trainer is a psychic type trainor so use a fire or ground type Pokemon. Make sure to use a fire type Pokemon against his bronzong because nothing else will effect it very much. don't use normal moves on it because it won't effect it at all. stop right there, your not done yet, you still need to defeat the champion, Cynthia. When you defeat her you will become the greatest trainer in the land. To defeat spirittomb her first Pokemon, use a fire type, for lucario use a fire, ground, or fighting Pokemon. For milotic use an electric type because milotic knows ice beam, so don't use a grass type. For roserade, use fire, poison, ice, flying, bug, ghost and dark moves. For gastrodon, use grass types, but watch out for it's slude bomb move. And finally for garchomp, her best Pokemon, use dragon and ice type moves. So that's how you beat the elite four and the champion. :)
i use moltres, articuno, zapdos, origin forme giratina, dialga and palkia all level 100
You have to defeat the elite four and champion after that you will get a call from prof elm to come to his lab then go to his lab talk to him and you will get the ss ticket

The types of pokemon the Elite Four use in Pokemon Y are: Steel, Fire, Dragon, and Water. The Champion uses a variety of types.
There is are no certain Pokemon needed to defeat the elite four. Just use your strongest Pokemon.
Use a fire type pokemon, fire beats steel.
All you have to do to defeat the Elite Four and the Champion is to have like a Lv. 70-100 as a starters... I would use a action replay and use the Lv. hundred cheat because my Pokemon is Lv. 100 and it wad the only Pokemon I used. I defetaed the Elite Four and the Champion. Piece of Cake! Hope this helped! :D (P.S. I didn't use action replay to level my Pokemon to 100, but there is a cheat code on action replay for it ;)
you should have an ice type Pokemon, a fighting type Pokemon and an electric type Pokemon
You can use a strong Pokemon to hit all the Elite four's Pokemon and champion Lance's Pokemon (in HeartGold). It depends on your Pokemon level but you can use ice types to beat Lance's Pokemons so it's easy to beat Lance.
Ghost types are weak against other ghost types and dark types so use those types to defeat that elite four member.
You just need to see or capture all of the Pokemon in the first dex, which is a total of 210. It's not hard, most people do it around the time they get through the elite four. Though if you get through it and realize you're missing a Pokemon or two, like I did the first time, there's a lot of guides where you can find find the location to veiw the Pokemon so you can complete the dex. As for filling the national dex, I'm not much use there, sorry
