In the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, the brides have no names. However, in later films they were given various names. For example: in the 2004 film Van Helsing, the brides were called Verona, Marishka and Aleera.
The inspiration for Dracula comes from Prince Vlad III of Wallachia, a fifteenth century ruler in eastern Europe. He was also known as Vlad Dracula and Vlad the Impaler. Several different stories exist as to how he died. He may have been killed by Turks, by his own men, either accidentally or deliberately, or accidentally during a hunt. He died either in December 1476 or January 1477.
I first read Dracula when I was 15. I think that, from that age, it can be understood. I don't think it would ordinarily appeal to anyone younger. The unusual way it has been written, in the form of journals of the characters in the book, is very interesting, and it certainly intrigued me when I first read it.

Bram Stoker suffered from numerous health issues throughout his life, including childhood illnesses that weakened his body. In his later years, he experienced a series of strokes that eventually left him bedridden before he passed away.
