They are mostly aimed at 9 - 13 year olds as lots of them have sad storylines (such as World War II) and in some bookes people or animals do die in them....My child who is aged 10 loves all the Micheal Morpurgo books, whereas my 14 year old child doesnt enjoy them very much (she thinks they are to childish). I think they also apeal to girls more than boys, which is strange because they are about War, however they are not about guns...they put a very good point through and are all very emotional for adults as well.......
