The religious battles of Mary I's previous reign left the country in turmoil for Elizabeth to sort out. However, Elizabeth did succeed. In fact, her reign is often described as 'The Golden Age'. Her other remarkable achievements include reinstating Protestantism, being the first daughter on the throne to succeed war, and restoring England's prosperity, wealth, and the influential manipulation a popular Queen is entitled to.
