Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth rode a horse called Imperial during the Trooping the Colour ceremony in the 1960's, he was a large chestnut with four white stockings and blaze. At the same time His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgn rode a grey horse called Alamein. Later she rode a pretty black mare, a present from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, called Burma. One of her most successful racehorses was a mare called Dunfermline, who won some great races for Her Majesty.

The corgis are described as sensitive and intelligent dogs, which are also kind and protective of their owners. They are loyal, alert, even-tempered, fun-loving, and confident, all good qualities for a family dog, although they might not always get along with each other. The queen's only low point in her love for pets was in 2003, when one of her beloved Corgi dogs ,Pharos, was savaged to death by a Bull terrier owned by her daughter Princess Anne. Pharos was one of the queen's oldest and most devoted pet. the queen was most very sad to have lost her beloved dog.
