Swami Sivananda was the greatest guru who ever lived. His disciples are or were the most dynamic yogis of modern times. He trained more yogis and had a greater impact on the world than all other gurus combined. He was a master of every type of yoga, he trained disciples in Vedanta, Bhakti, Raja, Kundalini, Hatha, Karma, Nada, Swara and every type of yoga known. He would send them wherever the world needed them. He was a totally selfless saint. One of his disciples, Swami Satyananda said "just watching the master was yoga" and "I know there was a Jesus because i lived with Sivananda". He created the greatest spiritual organization in the world, the divine life society. He wrote 296 books on every facet of yoga, philosophy, religion and spiritual life. He gave the world swamis chidananda, krishnananda, vishnudevananda, satyananda, chinmayananda,satchidananda, and many more.

Yogis do not achieve levitation during their practice. Levitation is not a real phenomenon and is often portrayed inaccurately in media and popular culture.
Ayurvedic yogis are encouraged to drink their own urine between 4 and 6 a.m. in the morning in the belief that the hormones ingested will facilitate a meditative state.
During meditation or astral projection, yogis may leave their physical body by entering a deep state of relaxation and focus. This allows them to detach their consciousness from their physical form and explore other realms or dimensions. Through practice and mastery of their mind and energy, yogis can achieve this state of consciousness and experience leaving their body.
Yogis believe breathing to be the most important metabolic function; we breathe roughly 23,000 times per day and use about 4,500 gallons of air, which increases during exercise.
