Originally, Yassen was to follow Snakehead as the eighth book, and would be the final Alex Rider novel. However, Horowitz rethought this idea, following negative responses during school visits. Crocodile Tears was instead released as the eighth book, in November 2009. This will be followed by Yassen and then by the tenth and last book, which could be named Endurance Point making for a series of ten books. Anthony Horowitz has hinted that he may use the title "Endurance Point" for a future Alex Rider novel. However, on BBC Radio 4 on 20 March 2010, Anthony Horowitz announced that the next book would most likely be called Scorpia Rising.

There most possibly will be another novel/spin off to the Alex Rider series. Anthony Horowitz has said in his forums that he is working on another book for the Alex Rider series which has the working title "Yassen". It will serve as a prequel to the series, focusing on the childhood of the assassin Yassen Gregorovich. It is expected to be released sometime after the final novel, Scorpia Rising, most likely during 2012.
The book you are referring to is most likely "Stormbreaker" from the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. It follows the story of a teenage boy who is recruited by MI6 to work as a spy and embark on dangerous missions.
