The one with the 4hi, 4lo, 2hi and auto 4wd buttons takes GM auto-trak II transfer case fluid.
Manual Transfer case takes DEXRON-III Automatic Transmission Fluid. Automatic Transfer case takes Auto-Trak 11 Tranfer Case Fluid. Auto-Trak 11 is only available at GM dealer.
factory calls for AUTO TRAK II "BLUE" FLUID ONLY BUT SHOP MANUEL SAYS CAN USE DEXTRON IV AS WELL. I RECOMEND THE AUTO TRAK II BUT ITS ONLY AVAILABLE FROM DEALER.
it uses a brand by acdelco, and you have to order it from a dealer. its called auto trak 2. if you don't use this specific fluid it will mess up your transfer case, i learned the hard way. and they wont recomend it until you've already had problems , that's how they make their money, good luck, it runs about 6-10 dollars a quart.

You should use Dexron III Automatic Transmission Fluid or GM Auto-Trak II fluid which are recommended by the manufacturer. All Chevy Blazers through 1998 will hold 1.25qts.
Use only auto-trak II in automatic t-case . Use dextron III in manual t-case. You will need two qt.'s
There are multiple fluid brands that fulfill the specifications for General Motors transfer cases. As of September 2014 the most recent General Motors fluid, which is also downwardly compatible for this application is AC Delco Auto-Trak II, part#10-4017 88900402.
The transfer case only uses a GM specified lubricant. You can get it for around $6.50 a quart and will take 2 quarts. Don't use anything but this. It called Auto-trak II
