You have to find ten worms around moltara. They are somewhere around the map and they show up randomly. They are also time-sensitive. That means that if you see one , click on it fast or you won't get it. After you got all the ten worms, the lantern will have an action called 'fill with worms'. You can now access the cave beside the gilded page in Moltara Caves.

You have to go into the light shop in moltara and get an empty lantern (its free). Then you collect the worms in moltara they are all over the place and some are really rare to see. Next you go to your inventory and click on the lantern and choose to put all the worms in there, enjoy finding your way around in the cave ;-D

Seems you may be able to pick the lantern back up the next day after the worms have rested and are glowing again to re-visit the Dark Caves. Red Moltite is a component for creating the mechanical Moltara petpets, the ones which combine together into different forms, including the wearable Vaggendotra 5000.
People tell me that the guy at Lampwyck's Lights Fantastic on Neopets will give me the empty lantern but he won't so how do I get the empty lantern on Neopets?
