Mrs. Dodds uses this as an excuse to get Percy alone, but she really was sent to Percy by Hades to return his helm. So she attacks him, in her true form-- a fury. Mr. Brunner (Chiron) throws Percy a pen that transforms into a sword (Riptide) and Percy swings it at the Fury, who exploded in a cloud of yellow dust.

∙ 13y agoNancy Bobbifit was throwing chunks of peanut butter and ketchup sandwich at Grover. Then Percy got mad at her and the water in the nearby fountain grabbed her in.
Nancy claimed Percy pushed her, and Miss Dodds got mad at Percy and turned into a Fury.

∙ 11y agoWhy mrs dodds came after him was because she and most of the gods believed him to have stolen the master bolt from Zeus. Why she attacked him in the book was because she became sure he was Poseidon's son when he unknowingly used his powers on Nancy Bobofit and made her fall into the fountain.

∙ 11y agoBecause she only wanted to get the lightning bolt from Percy which everyone thought he stole. She would kill to get the lightning bolt. I think she works for Hades , and Ms. Dodds is was a Furie. They are terrifying looking creatures with horrible features. Their breath burns and poisonous blood drips from their eyes. Their heads are wreathed in snakes.

∙ 6y agoPercy defeats Mrs.Dodds with Riptide, a celestial bronze sword that Mr.Brunner (a.k.a Chiron) throws him (it is in the form of a ballpoint pen when he throws it) when he is cornered in a museum on a field trip. Not really knowing what to do, Percy swung the sword and cut her in half.
