Claes Oldenburg is an American sculpture. He creates public art installations, enlarged replicas of everyday objects and soft sculpture versions of everyday objects. He also uses several different mediums; metal, plastic and stone.
They use contemplation of many objects such as, Clay, Metal, Materialised Paint, Wire and many more
Claes Oldenburg uses a variety of materials for his sculptures. Here are three examples that are most commonly used in his sculptures: - acrylic and pencil on foam-filled canvas with wood, cord, and plaster (used as one). - painted stainless steel and fiber glass. - Cor-Ten steel painted with polyurethane enamel.
He was a bit different to most artists who were using brass and marble. he went for a strange approach using soft materials and rubber. later on he used brass and steel again but he had already changed sculpting forever. sorry i couldn't be much help, i am only 11 :)
I find that hyperrealistic, greatly oversized, or greatly undersized sculptures appeal to my teenagers. Use a search engine to look at the sculptures of Ron Mueck, Claes Oldenburg, Willard Wigan, and Duane Hanson.
