September 1st.
Teddy Lupin was born in 1997. Nineteen years later, he is 19 years old. Students leave Hogwarts at 17. Therefore he is too old to be at Hogwarts, but his character was never said to be getting on the train. He was at King's Cross to say goodbye to Victoire Weasley.
Dumbledore's will as revealed in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" says that most of his possesions will go to Hogwarts school, with 4 exceptions. To Harry he gives the first snitch that Harry caught (it secretly contained the stone Deathly Hallow). To Hermione he left his copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. To Ron he left his Putter-outer, which can turn any light off and was later discovered to be able to transport people. He also left Harry the sword of Godric Gryffindor but as it was not consdered Dumbledore's to give, Harry did not get it. Here and is saidforth, the last will and testament of Albus Percival Wulfrick Brian Dumbledore. First, to Ronald Bilius Weasley, I leave my Deluminator. A device of my own making in the hope that when things seem most dark, it will show him the light. To Hermione Jean Granger, I leave my copy of The Tales of Beetle and Bard in the hope that she find it entertaining and instructive. To Harry James Potter, I leave the Snitch he caught in his first Quidditch match at Hogwarts as a reminder of the rewards of perseverance and skill.
The Hogwarts Express departs from Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Station promptly at 11 a.m. on September 1st every year. This departure time allows students attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to arrive at Hogsmeade Station near the school in time for the start of the new academic year. The magical platform, hidden between Platforms 9 and 10, requires a bit of a run and a leap through the barrier to access it.
Before book 7, the setting was almost entirely at Hogwarts. Harry spent almost all of his time there, but now, when the quest to destroy Voldemort grows more urgent, Harry, Ron and Hermione leave school. Mostly, they pick places safe from Death Eaters. They hide in many places, but if you want to sum it all up, the setting is... Deserted and safe woods or fields.
Hagrid left Harry with his relatives, the Dursley's, who live in Surrey.

Kings Cross Station
You are either eighteen or nineteen when you finish Hogwarts. It depends what month your birthday falls in.
Kings Cross
Trains don't go from Kings Cross to Manchester. They leave from London Euston which is a 10 minute walk from Kings Cross. The journey from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly takes around 2 hours 10 minutes.
Harry potter leaves from platform 9 and 3/4s. He and his Hogwart's companions get to this by running through a brick wall between platform 9 and 10. In the second book, the Chamber of Secrets, Ron Weasley and Harry run at the wall, only to find that it has been sealed off. Their excuse to the muggle station officer who comes to them looking very worried is ' sorry, couldn't control the trolly.'
