In Harry Potter's second year at Hogwarts, he is invited to Nearly Headless Nick's 'Deathday' party on the 31st October. Harry, Ron and Hermione attend this party in one of the dungeons. They don't stay long and leave very hungry. On their way out, Harry hears a voice that says it is going to kill somebody. The three then come across a petrified Mrs Norris and a message saying the chamber of secrets has been opened.

Inside the room, he finds a mirror that shows him his entire family but shows Ron as the Quidditch captain and head boy. Dumbledore explains that it is called the Mirror of Erised and shows your hearts deepest desire.
