Personally, I feel Mickey Mouse has always been big to little children and adults. I can't tell you the countless times I've seen adults wear Mickey Mouse t-shirts. But yes, there was a time when Mickey Mouse was big but it was not the 80's. Mickey Mouse came into moving pictures on Nov. 18, 1928. So, I think Mickey became really big in the 50's or 60's. But remember, he always has been big.
His shorts are red and the little ovals on them are white! :) you welcome
Winnie the Pooh was given a red shirt when Winnie the Pooh was featured on an RCA Victor picture record. In later, color editions of the Pooh books, Winnie wears a red shirt. Mickey Mouse has buttons on his pants, not polka dots. When Mickey Mouse was designed in 1928, zippers were not available on children's clothing. It was a recent invention and was not generally accepted as a fastener in clothing. It was simpler to make Mickey's pants with two buttons rather than many. Mickey Mouse pants have been red since he was first designed, even though he was only seen in black and white for many years.
