Dig a hole in the ground.

Seriously now. They used to play very physical games, so came the idea of sport, but different times of history, had different ways to provide entertainment, for example, in the late 1800-mid 1900s, children used to have toys that looked like oversized tops, they competed against each other, and the loser is very unluckly, everyone else hit the spike (bottom) of their top on the unlucky loser. However, if you go further back, who knows what the heck they did.

Played guitar or violin or something like that, went out with friends and had some drinks(like we do today), and also they had a lot less free time than we do now. They were working most of their days because they had less technology and had do have more workers to do things manually.
