What do you do in the ruins of alph in Pokemon Soul Silver?

Basically, you go on a mini adventure to these 4 separate chambers in the ruins, each one has a picture for you to unscramble and assemble. If the picture is unscrambled correctly you will have fallen from a trap door into a floor below you, and unlock a set of unown. There are 28 unown in total, 26 of them being the letter of the alphabet, and 2 of them being symbols, which are the question mark and the exclamation point. When you talk to the scientist he will give you an item called the unnown report, which saves every letter of unown you have caught. 2 rooms can easily be accessed in the ruins, which are to the right...the other two, which are to the left, can be accessed by the union cave. Once you have activated all of the trap doors into the giant floor below you, go back to them again because there you will see a rectangular column with a golden looking button. The button will have pictures of unown. Again, unown are letters so they spell something. What they spell is different directions on what that chamber wants you to do, for example, use flash. A door will open up and you will land in a room with a bunch of unown carved on the floor, they spell out a messege. But, you need all 26 letters of unown to translate them. They are easy to catch for they are only level 5. Afterwards, once you've done all of that, you talk to the scientist and he will constantly update the report, and you will go to the main entrance of the ruins and catch the remaining 2 unnown, which are the symbols, and help the scientist pretty much get a clear knowledge of the ruins and the unown. You will feel smart after doing it, its fun. I suggest holding it off until you defeated kanto. One more thing...You will need one thing to unlock the chamber that leads you to the room with the messages on the floor. The first chamber: use escape rope. Second chamber: use flash. Third Chamber: use water stone. Fourth chamber: have Ho-Oh the lead member of your party. And that is all.

Not that big an importance, but if you finish all the puzzles you can catch all the Unown and I think you can get some sweet, but not vital items.
