well in the book percys main idea was to find the lightning bolt whitch he belived hades had to get his mom back. hades nevet had the bolt.......so in shorter terms he had to find the lightning bolt (he didn't want to do) so he can get his mom back (he wanted to do)

Grover's main goal is to find the Lost/Wild God, Pan, who is the "king of satyrs." Humans have been destroying Pan's domain and the satyrs want to bring Pan back so that he'll fix nature back to how it was before stuff like pollution.

BECAUSE THE LIGHTNING THIEF IS AWESOME WITH ELECTRIFYING MOMENTS AND SHOCKING MOMENTS AND ITS A STORY THATS INTERESTING plus, Rick Riordan (author) made every single part of the book interesting and it makes yoou want to read more. The movie lightning thief isn't as good as the book, but it's also ok.
