There are three ways that i can find. Page Springs Cellars in Arizona, his wine tasting place in Jerome Arizona, or caduceus.org. They don't start shipping wine again until weather in desert cools off. Mid- Sept maybe.
The smallest bottle at the start would let you go forward. Next was a bottle nettle wine, then a bottle of poison, another bottle of wine, another bottle of poison. The final bottle of wine and then a small round bottle that would let you go forward.

Kotler beat Pavel to death.
The wine wasted in Lieutenant Kotler's lap.
Pavel is killed when he drops a bottle of wine into Lieutenant Kotler's lap. In a bout of anger, Kotler kills him - though the book does not say how he died.
violence. he beat the cook to death for spilling the wine, and he beat Shmuel because he thought he was stealing.
In the movie, Pavel clearly gets beaten to death by Lieutenant Kotler for accidentally spilling wine on his uniform. In the book, it doesn't really mention what he did, but he obviously kills him in some way, because he's not mentioned again throughout the whole story. Gretel also points out later on that he's not going to come back.
lieutenant Kolter beat Pavil to death after Pavil spilled a bottle of wine on Kolter's lap. some people say he stabbed him to death with a fork but that seems unlikely as it would be a very slow kill and difficult weapon to use. (Edit: I was just wondering how do u no this? it doesn't say it in the book)
During a dinner meal with Bruno's family, when Pavel is called to pour wine for Lieutenant Kotler, he fumbles and spills wine on the Lieutenant. What happens next is left to the imagination only being described as "What happened then was both unexpected and extremely unpleasant. Lieutenant Kotler grew very angry with Pavel and no one - not Bruno, not Gretel, not Mother and not even Father stopped in to stop him doing what he did next, even though none of them could watch. Even though it made Bruno cry and Gretel grow pale.", page 148 - 149, Boy in the striped Pyjamas, John Boyne.
The cask of wine spilling in front of the wine shop. and the people begin to drink the wine off the ground. it shows how poor the people in france are.
From what I remember, only 4 foods were spoken of throughout the book: -Chocolate -Various vegetables (that Pavel, the Jewish slave, would peel for dinner each day) -Chicken (that Bruno shared with Shmuel when he was punished by Lieutenant Kotler) -Sandwiches (Bruno's mother made them a couple times). Wine and milk were also mentioned within the book.
"You filthy little..." is all he says, but later in the book you learn that he probably said "Jew" but Bruno didn't know what it meant at that time.
**SPOILER**Yes. When serving wine at a dinner table and spills it, Kurt Kotler beats him then kills him with a bullet.Following from Brookiemonster: (correct answer!!)Actually, in the book Pavel doesn't die but he isn't mentioned again - the reader is not even told what happens. Instead the reader is forced to make conclusions based on the fact that, due to our prior knowledge, we know that he beats him up and since he is not mentioned again we PRESUME that he is dead - we don't actually know!
because he didnt know if father would approve
