I asked myself what "slivery" means. I noticed that the word is not common or maybe nonexistent. Regardless, it is a word I believe may be colloquial and may only have meaning to a few folks who come from certain geographical areas of the United States where it is used or misused or simply created.

A snake "slivers" along the ground as a long slender reptile whose length is greater than its width and whose body undulates as it moves forward. Thus, it is a slivery motion that the snake makes. Folks' actions can possibly be described as slivery whether their actions are actual or perceived. The word often has the connotation, when applied to the description of a person or character, of one being sneaky and sly and possibly untrustworthy.

Of course the notion is that snakes are deceiving and tricky.
