In 1983 I bought the horse Dollor his name is not Dollar. He lived a great life and is buried in Texas. Did Tributes with Ben Johnson to his Dear friend John Wayne in 1987 in Ft Worth Texas. So much terrible wrong info on that great horse! Truly sad for the remembrance of this great horse and the beloved fans of John Wayne! He was in the last eight movies with Wayne ending with The Shootist. Was sold three times in a very short time frame. I was the third person that gave the horse his forever home. Have seen so many pictures of the leggy sorrel three stocking horse Wayne Rode and calling him Doll or and Dollar. Bo was that beautiful sorrel Wayne Rode in The Undefeated, True Grit and Chisum. Retired Bo after Chisum. Rode that Chestnut two hind stockings thin strip down nose in the rest of movies starting with the end of True Grit, Rio Lobo, The Train Robbers, Cahill US Marshall, Big Jake, The Cowboys, Roodster Cogburn and ending with The Shootist. He was Grand Marshall in Ft Worth Parade, Mesquite Rodeo Parade, Life Magazine, TV Channel 4 News, was retired in 1990 from public got to be a horse with his stable friends. Died at the age of 29 was buried by his stable mates will never be revealed due security of his grave. He was a great horse and Ben Johnson shared the love for Dollor as he had owned that horse when he was a colt. Truly sad what's being printed about that great horse! 🐴
