George Weasley 'accidentally' dropped a bag of toffee on the floor, Dudley, who was on a diet, immediately stole one of the toffees and ate it. Unbeknownst to Dudley, this was not a normal toffee and was in fact, something Fred and George Weasley had developed called a Ton-Tongue Toffee which caused Dudley's tongue to grow rapidly.
The Dursley's panicked and refused to let Mr Weasley assist, until he forced Fred, George, Ron and Harry to take the Floor Powder back to The Burrow and convinced the Dursley's to allow him to reverse the spell.
