What happens after the Pokemon league in Pokemon emerald?

Once you have defeated the Pokemon league, you will start back home in your room. Once you head downstairs, your mom asks you to watch an important news on T.V . The news says that they have discovered a Pokemon. That Pokemon is Latios or Latias depending on what color you have chosen(blue or red). Finding Latios or Latias will be hard. To find either Latios or Latias, one thing you can do is going through patches of grasses with repel. Latios and Latias won't have any effect on any repels, so chances of finding them will be greater. Once you find Latios or Latias it will flee the battle and you will have to find Latios or Latias again. To prevent Latios or Latias from fleeing, use a move that prevents any Pokemon from fleeing or switching out of battle. Ex: Block, Mean Look, etc. Another thing you can do is using a sleeping move such as Sleep Powder, Hypnosis, Etc. Although you have to make sure that Pokemon has good speed or else Latios or Latias will flee before you attack. If you still have a master ball, I will highly recommend it to catch Latios or Latias. If you want to save the excitement for later, head to Professor's Birch laboratory. He will upgrade your pokedex to the National Pokedex. That means that there are more Pokemon for you to discover than the Pokemon you see/caught on your original pokedex. He will also give you a ticket to the Battle Frontier. Once you made it to the Battle Frontier, there are many challenges you can take. There are about 7 challenges total for you to take. Also, there is a Sudowoodo if you know where the Pokemon is hiding. There is also a pack of Smeargles. Another thing you can do is catching the three mighty legendary Pokemon: Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayqueza. Make sure your prepared! Also, a new zone in the Safari zone is now open, packed with new Pokemon that you might need to complete your National Pokedex. Speaking of National Pokedex, once more thing you can do once you have defeated the Pokemon League is completing the National Pokedex. Have fun!

Once you enter the Pokemon league (The building and talked to the first elite four guy) You can't leave you just have to delete game and make a new one or finish the elite four.
