Well, it would definitely make more sense if you did. The main characters of Percy Jackson do appear in the Heroes of Olympus and the story plot has information from Percy Jackson. So if I were you, I would definitely read Percy Jackson first :) (that's what I did and everything made more sense)!
The Percy Jackson Camp Half-Blood series ended with the fifth book, The Last Olympian. The next series came out, The Heroes of Olympus. Percy plays an important part in the series, although he is no longer the main character.
The home of the gods in Percy Jackson is Mount Olympus. It is located on the 600th floor of the Empire State Building, which is not know to mortals because of the Mist. In actual Greek mythology (as opposed to the modernized version in the Percy Jackson series), Mount Olympus is still known as the home of the gods.
The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is concluded. However, the author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians has confirmed that he is writing another series that will mention Percy Jackson. This new series is called 'Heroes of Olympus' and the first book 'The Lost Hero' will be released in October of 2010.
After Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and the Heroes of Olympus there is The Kane Chronicles.
Yes some Percy Jackson characters will be in there and be older but they will not be the main characters

No. Percy Jackson will not be in the first book (The Lost Hero) but he will be in the second book and through the rest of the series. I've read the book and Percy Jackson is not in The Lost Hero. However, Percy Jackson will be in The Heroes of Olympus series. In book two (Heroes of Olympus, The Son of Neptune) Percy Jackson will be on of the main characters as he was in the last series.
Technically, yes they have finished making the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. But the Heroes of Olympus series is out and includes Percy Jackson as well as a bunch of new characters. Percy Jackson lives on!
That is happening in the Heroes of Olympus, the next Camp Half-Blood series by Rick Riordan.
The new Percy Jackson series is called the Heroes of Olympus. This series carries on what happened after The Last Olympian, the final Percy Jackson book, only with new heroes. The first book of the Heroes of Olympus is the Lost Hero.
Mount Olympus
Yes, Percy Jackson does get married in the final book of the Heroes of Olympus series, "The Blood of Olympus." He marries Annabeth Chase.
