The choir sings a song with really big frogs, and then while they are eating at the feast Sirius Black attacks the Fat Lady and rips her portrait, so everyone has to sleep in the Great Hall while the entire school is being searched.

The frogs are only in the movie, but Sirius Black does indeed attempt to break into the Gryffindor Common Room on Halloween. At least, that is my recollection. I would check but my mom borrowed my copy of the book. He actually tries to break in twice; the first time, he attacks the Fat Lady's portrait because she won't let him in, and the second time he gets Crookshanks (Hermione's cat) to steal the list of passwords that Neville Longbottom had written down (because he's always forgetting them).
