What happens to Gale in Mockingjay?

At the end of Mockingjay, Gale moves to District 2 and gets a 'fancy job' working for the new government. Katniss ends up picking Peeta because he is a good compatibility for her personality, and because she can't get over what Gale did - he structured the tactic that killed Prim.

He ends up working in some mine thingy in like either district 1 or 2 or something!
