The laws vary from state to state.

Most have a law in place to prevent this from happening. Depending on the school, and how many days they allow to be missed is a factor.

But, if a minor misses too much school, then they will be issued a truency ticket, which in turn if the minor continues to miss school it turns into a warrent. The officer will arrest the minor, take them to juvinile, then to court to go before a judge. Now depending on how many days was missed there are several consequences (which all consequences sentenced are up to the judge presiding over the case, the minor, and in some cases, the guardian will have no input on the matter): the minor will go to juvinile, the minor will receive a very expensive ticket, the minor could receive the maximum amount of community service allowed, the minor could be expelled from the schol, the minor could be placed on house arrest (allowed to go to school and back home ONLY), and if the minor continues to miss with or with out parental consent/knowledge, the legal guardian could receive severe consequences as well. The guardian could receive jail time as well, tickets, or other consequences.
