Yes, Moria is mentioned in several places in The Hobbit. It was discussed in the planning meeting in Bilbo's smial. It was also used as a battle cry by the dwarves in the Battle of Five Armies.
The battle was just starting when the orcs showed up. They were the common foe of all and the elves, dwarves, and men fought against them instead of each other.
The Battle of the Five Armies started as a face off between the armies of the Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield and Dain of the Iron Hills, the Men of Long Lake, led by Bard, and the Wood Elves, led by their King. They all had some claim to the treasure in the Halls of the King under the Mountain, recently freed from the possession of the dragon Smaug, whom Bard had slain, with Bilbo's help. As they were about to fight, due to Thorin's enormous love of the treasure, and complete unwillingness to consider any other claim, an enormous army of Goblins showed up. To some degree, their attack had been kicked off by the slaying of the Great Goblin by Gandalf, plus their desire for the treasure. Once the Goblins showed up, the Elves, Dwarves, and Men joined together to fight the common foe. After that battle had been engaged for some time, and was not going well for the forces of good, an army of eagles showed up and tipped the scales against the Goblins. So I guess that in the end, the desire of the Dwarves to gain back their lost home in Lonely Mountain, and win back the treasure of their fathers was the primary cause of this battle.
they met when Julius Caesar interrupted the battle between Cleopatra and her brother.
What the big fued was about was that they hate each other and elves pay out how small they look and how stupid their beards look... so the dwarves hate the elves because of that.

The dwarves were angry with Arya in the book 'Eldest' by Christopher Paolini due to her actions in the final battle of the first book 'Eragon' in the inheritance cycle. In order to aid Eragon in his battle against Durza Arya had to destroy a rather valuable jewel of the Dwarves, the Isidar Mithrim. This creation came from years of effort from all the Dwarves, therefore though it saved the life of Eragon and aided the defeat of Durza it resulted in a terrible loss on the Dwarves behalf. Also, Arya always starts a huge argument with the dwarf priest because she does not believe in gods.
There were the orcs and wargs fighting against the dwarves, elves, and men. the Giant Eagles of the Misty Mountains and Beorn the skin-changer fought later in the battle on the side of the dwarves, elves, and men. And, of course, Biblo Baggins, a halfling, was there.
