Water fowls are birds like ducks, geese and swans that live on the water.
You are not to "do" or "think" anything when meditating. You are to simply watch whatever is happening inside. Perhaps you notice thoughts happening. Or you notice a feeling (a sense of anger or joy). Or perhaps you notice your body (my legs are aching). But your task while meditating is to simply become aware of what is. Do not try to change or fix anything. Simply accept yourself from your heart, and watch whatsoever is happening. Now -- there are many different techniques that ask you to "do" various things: for example, in Vipassana, you are asked to watch your breath. That is fine, you can practice the technique. But remember, the technique is just a doorway into meditation; it is not meditation itself. Meditation is pure awareness, pure watchfulness.
