CMM Advertising, Inc. introduced the 30-second Quaker Oatmeal commercials starring Dick Van Dyke. In one 30-second spot entitled "Phone Talker". The commercial opens with Dick Van Dyke eating Quaker Oatmeal while talking on the telephone as Fats Waller's "Louisiana Fairytale" plays in the background. When he said "Hi, Mary Tyler Moore, I just got the real deal here, Now I'm eating Quaker Oatmeal". As the camera follows him, Dick Van Dyke is still talking on the phone when he eats a Quaker Oatmeal as he says "Understandably I got here that I was a kid". As Dick Van Dyke is still talking on the phone when he eats Quaker Oatmeal as he says "I don't really care but I want to know". At the end of the commercial, Dick Van Dyke is still talking on the telephone as he eats Quaker Oats when he says "Okay, Mary, I got a difference here. MMM!". While Jerry Van Dyke ( brother of Dick Van Dyke) and I were making an appearance on a special "Merv Griffin Show" at Cesar's Palace in Las Vegas in the 70s, Jerry said something like, "I think we're related. Let me make a call." He called his manager or a relative. Minutes later he said to me, "I guess we are related! Seems that my father and your grandfather were brothers or cousins!" To which I said, "Great; now you tell me!" To the best of my knowledge, this is true.

Yes she has because she did play for South Africa and now plays for New Zealand.
Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews met The Beatles in March of 1964 when they were sharing Twikenham Studios in England during the filming of two now famous movies, "Mary Poppins" and "A Hard Day's Night". There's a photo of Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews posing with The Fab Four, who were mingling with The Poppins cast as they took a break from filming the "Jolly Holiday" sequence, which the Fab Four were observing. Oddly enough, in each movie, a character can be heard chiding someone with the phrase, "None of your larking about!" In Poppins it's heard in the scene The Beatles were observing! Hmmm!
The first GOCIT commercial had Dick Van Dyke tries to put gasoline in a car and puts a hose in a gasoline pump. Then he fills up a gas tank and gets in the car and drives too fast. And then Laura arrives while Dick Van Dyke was driving fast. In the next scene, The policeman comes in and says "You're under arrest now man, GOCIT". At the end of the commercial Dick Van Dyke puts the GOCIT oil in a car and drives away, and then Laura gets in the car and drives fast. The camera pans in on a GOCIT sign With the text saying "You like me". and fade out. In another spot Trio's "Da Da Da" blares in the background, Rob and Laura drive around in a cadillac and then they pick up a dog instead of a chair it realized it smells. They go to a GOCIT car wash and washes the dog. And at the end, they put the dog back in the street ad drive off. The announcer says "GOCIT it fits your life, or your complete lack thereof On the car wash highway they are people on the earth". Cut a GOCIT logo with text saying "You like me". and fade out. A third spot had a fast motion chase scene The benny hill theme song blares in the background as Dick Van Dyke gets in the circus car and got chased by townspeople, and Laura looks out in the window. When he goes to GOCIT, he gives a gasoline in a car and Laura arrives at GOCIT and he gets back in a circus car chased by townspeople and Laura was running. I have never heard of this. Some rock groups had to alter lyrics such as the Rolling Stones. Mary Tyler Moore was a regular cast member on the (then) Dick Van Dyke show as I believe Laura Petri ( sounds Italian) . Maybe there was something ( and then as now this is serious) about copyright laws and violations . For similar reasons some cartoon shows did not have theme songs.
