Although this was in fact true, in doing so, he broke his promise to her never to reveal her secret, and after being taken to the Ulster King's palace (while heavily pregnant!) she promptly outran the horse, and understandably, cursed the Ulstermen for their sexist disregard for her person by making them suffer painful abdominal cramps (i.e. period pains) on a monthly basis, which later prevented them from defending their homelands from the other Irish invading armies.
