∙ 10y agoThere is no best overall starter in Pokemon Black especially since the first route is Pokemon no member of your team really have natural disadvantage over.
Looking at the gyms:
1) No type advantage. You need extra for it.
2) If you've raised Tepig you may be slightly better here, but fighting types around mean the other starters are ok too.
3) Tepig once again has advantage, BUT you've had access to flying types.
4) No advantage. (Although Snivy might suffer alittle from Aerial Ace (once again you should by now have another cover))
5) All starters have some advantage. Tepig might be slightly ahead, but once again Fighting types from earlier.
6) Snivy disadvantage, but once again you've had access to Electric types.
7) Tepig advantage. Snivy disadvantage, but you've just come through a cave with Ground/Rock types.
8) No overall advantage.
E4 : Tepig slight advantage.
As you can see your starters are usually covered by Pokemon avaliable in the area or nearby. So there is not advantage to any.
