A play is when a story is being told by 2 or more people. The people are called actors. (The women are called actresses) Usually plays are stories, old folk tales, or modern tellings. The person who instructs the play (or tells the actors where to go) is called the director. The people that are in charge of the lights and technical work are called techs. Oh, and we wouldn't have a play without skripts. Skripts are the tools actors use to tell the story. They are small books that tell the actor where to go, what to say, and who to say it to. The director often changes some parts of the skript, though. Plays can be performed outside, on stage, on the floor, in a house, in a theater or bascially anywhere. The people who watch the play are called the audience. Whenever something funny happens, they laugh. Whenever something sad happens, they get teary-eyed. It just all depends on how well the actors act. Oh, and at the ed of every play, it is a tradition that the audience claps their hands to show that they enjoyed the play. I hope this information has helped you.
