No sonic the hedgehog is not a saiyan, but allot of people mistake him for one. First of all there are seven chaos emeralds and seven dragon balls, second of all when he gets all seven chaos emeralds, he transforms into super sonic. a little something that looks dangerously close to a super saiyan. And last but not least sonic can fuse with other charecters from the sonic franchise, for instance.Sonic+Shadow=Shadic (who is not an ofical sonic charecter.) And charecters can also fuse together in DBZ, like Goku+Vageta=Gogeta. Allthough the creator of sonic has admitted to be a Dragon ball Z fan,SONIC IS NOT COPYING DRAGON BALL Z!
