I took this from Disney's web site. It doesn't give actual numbers but you can tell whether you're going during a busy period or not. Although special events and promotions may influence the Theme Park attendance levels, the following list highlights historic attendance trends throughout the year:
Lowest Attendance at Disney Parks:
January (except New Year's Day) until just prior to Presidents' week in February
The week following Labor Day until just prior to Thanksgiving week
The week following Thanksgiving until the week prior to Christmas Moderate Attendance at Disney Parks:
After Presidents' week in February through early March
Late April through early June (except Memorial Day weekend)
The first part of Thanksgiving week Highest Attendance at Disney Parks:
Presidents' week in February
Mid-March through Late April ("Spring Break")
Memorial Day weekend
Mid-June through Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day and weekend
Christmas week through New Year's Day Also, during regular attendance periods, our Parks tend to be the busiest on the following days: Magic Kingdom® Park: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday
Epcot®: Tuesday and Friday
Disney-MGM Studios: Sunday and Wednesday
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
The Magic Kingdom has an average attendance of 43,000 people per day. However, this varies as some seasons will attract more or less guests. The park can hold a total of 100,000 people and often reaches capacity during spring break, Fourth of July, and New Year's Eve.
Christmas Day is considered to be the busiest holiday day at Disney theme parks. This is based on attendance at all Disney theme parks including Disneyland, Disney World, Epcot Center, Euro Disney, and all others.
Disney's choice was apparently very good judging by the attendance at the Eurodisney site (most visited site in France, itself the most visited country in the world).
In 2007, the total attendance at Disney World Resort topped 40 million people for the year, so the total since its opening is a moving target. The results of a quick internet search showed that in June 1998, total attendance hit 600 million. See Related Links.
Zero. There are no permanent residents living on Disney property.
The 2013 attendance for the four theme parks was 50,125,000
Walt Disney World has an annual attendance of over 47 million people.

I'm not so sure why Disney World needs to be protected by average citizens, but I suppose guests can make sure they keep Disney World in the same condition that they find it when they visit.
No, you can no longer meet with the suited Power Rangers at Disney World. Disney had to cease with doing that operation as of September of 2010 because of them selling the rights of the franchise back to Haim Saban.
Disney closed one day in September of 1999 during hurricane Floyd.
