What is the background of the character Harry Potter?

Harry Potter had two magical parents. They were killed when he was a baby by a dark wizard named Voldemort. Voldemort also attempted to kill Harry, but failed only to seriously damage himself. Harry was hidden away from the wizarding world by Albus Dumbledore. He was placed with an uncaring aunt, uncle, and cousin. They hid his past from him and told him his parents died in a car accident. As a young child strange things would happen that he could not explain. His hair grew back over night. He somehow came to be on a roof and did not know how. When Harry was eleven he was brought back into contact with the magical community and told the truth about his parents and told he was a wizard as well. After this he started to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The adventures in the books continued from there.

In the books Harry's personality changes a lot through the years.He is nice, but can be mean when he needs to.He's often funny and likes to joke around with Ron.Otherwise he's serious.He can also be sensitive at times.

Before Harry went to Hogwarts he lived with the Dursleys and went to the same school

as Dudley. Harry got bullied and made fun of because he wore Dudley's old baggy clothes.

Aunt Petuina and Uncle Vernon treated him very poorly. They hardly gave him anything

to eat and made him sleep in the cupboard under the stairs until he got the letter from Hogwarts,then they let him sleep in Dudley's other room where he kept all his stuff.
