What is the best Pokemon team in Pokemon HeartGold?

well actually it depends on what you think, its your team and your opinion. but honestly i would NOT choose chictora to start i chose cyndaquil (totodile would be fine but i personally like cyndaquil the best of the three). currently my team is consists of typhlosion, mewtwo, luxray, flareon, weavil, and lugia which is working good,------------ for me. but i suggest for that when you battle red towards the end you use a few electric types, they work well against half of his pokemon. :)

I would say the best team would be Typlosion, Swampert, Venusaur, Dragonite or if you have the patience Garchomp, Ampharos, and Mamoswine.

Here is here you get them:

Typhlosion: choose Cyndaquill in the beginning of the game

Swampert: go to the Sliph Co. after beating the Elite 4 for the 2nd time + Red and you will see Steven talk to him and he will ask you which color stone you would choose, choose blue and you will get a lvl 5 Mudkip

Venusaur: after beating Red talk to Professor Oak in Pallet Town and he will give you a Kanto starter, choose Bulbasaur

Dragonite: in the Game Corner you can by a Dratini lvl 15 for 2100 coins or catch a Dratini in Dragon's Den

Garchomp: in the Safari Zone in the Rocky Beach if you place down certain items, in which I don't remember, and after 100 days you can find a Gible or trade one from Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum

Ampharos: you can find Mareep and Flaafy all around the Jhoto Region

Mamoswine: you can find Swinub in the Ice Cave and then once it evolves have Piloswine relearn Ancient Power so it can evolve

For me, the best Pokemon team is the one that has a Flying-Type, a Water-Type, a Fighting-Type, a Fire-Type, a Grass-Type and an Electric-Type. I'm telling you, in all of my Pokemon Game Cards, I start with such a team, and there's NO way i lose. Hope I helped :)
