What is the best Pokemon to pick in the begging in FireRed?

The best Pokemon in fire red is mew. It's in cerulean in the cave.
well there are allot, i think it's Deoxys on birth island or Lugia which is located at navel rock you can only get these Pokemon from the mystery gift. To obtain the mystery gift go to any poke mart and at the booklet click it and right " Link Together With All" and the dude will ask u "you know those words".............. and you obtain the mystery gift, you can also find new Pokemon in the altering cave on 6 island I think that's the one, and you can catch all sorts of Pokemon ex(houndor) and some sheep.

Depending on the difficulty you wish to play the game depends on which pokemon you choose.

Bulbasaur- is good for beginners

Squirtle- is good for moderate

Charmander- is good for expert

well.if you like fire type that are good and strong get charmander.he is very popular.

if you like good strong grass type that will get you through the first four gym leaders easily then pick bulbasaur.

if you like powerfull water type Pokemon that will pretty much get through all gyms get squirtle.

I think squirtle is the perfect pick because he is strong,learns good moves and can get you through pretty much any gym. :)

It really depends on what type you think you could benefit from the most. But here's what I think.

Bulbasaur-Quick to raise. Terrible learnset. Lowest stats of all three. Better off catching another Grass-type later. Reccomended for beginners.

Squirtle-A little slow to raise. Good learnset. High Defense. Unless you want to train a Lapras, Squirtle's the way to go. Reccomended for a balanced team and trainer.

Charmander- Slowest to raise. Great learnset. High Attack/Special Attack. Your best bet for a Fire-type. Reccomended for high and advanced trainers.
