Greg: Let me get something straight: This is a JOURNAL, not a diary. This was Mom's idea, not mine. But if she thinks I'm going to write down my "Feelings" in here or whatever, she's crazy.

Greg is in school and is very wimpy. A girl Named Patty is Greg's biggest enemy. despite his older brother Roderick and younger brother Manny, His best friend Rowely and a weird boy called Fregley are only his mates. But he has his mom and dad! His mom bought him this girlie diary as Greg calls it, to put his feelings in there but Greg will never do that.
