GERALD Thipe, permanent secretary in Botswana's Transport ministry recently announced that six companies were short-listed to operate Air Botswana for three years and return it to profit.
The six companies include Air France Consulting, a division of Air France KLM, International Development Ireland, Johannesburg-based African Airline Management CC, Lufthansa Consulting, a subsidiary of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Comair and Solenta Aviation.
According to a published report on bloomberg.com, evaluations of tenders are expected to be completed by the end April and a deadline for the submission of proposals to turn the airline around was expected on April 8.
