A Leaf Crown is an item you find when you walk in the grass with your Pokemon, when you talk to your Pokemon in an certain area it will have a ! on top of your pokemon's head, then it will do a dance with a musical note on it head. When you do that it will get a golden leaf. (Note this leave has no use in battles or training games, it just makes your Pokemon more happy with you.) It may take a long time to find one of these leaves, so I would get some repels. The area of the leave depends on its nature. Here are the areas for the leaves:

After obtaining your first leaf, go to New Bark Town and into the house with the postbox at the bottom. Go up to the top floor and talk to the opposite gender of your character and He/She will tell you more about the Gold and Silver leaves and challenge you to get five of these leaves on the SAME Pokemon.
Once you manage to get five leaves on a Pokemon at once, talk to the your opposite gender character again to get a star on your Trainer Card. He/she will also convert the 5 leaves into a Leaf Crown for your Pokemon.
