What is the main idea of diary of a wimpy kid rodrick rules?

The main idea the author is trying to tell you is that Rodrick thinks that he is the boss of everyone and everything. Since he thinks he is so cool he picks on Greg to show him who's the boss. Rodrick knows Greg's big secret and if he doesn't do as Rodrick says his life would be ruined. And eventually Rodrick got the big secret out but instead of kid's laughing at Greg people were cheering for him. The people mistook what he said so that back fired for Rodrick a lot!

There is no theme, really. Basically, it is about Greg Heffley, a wimpy kid. The book is about his life. It tells you what he does, what problems he faces, and what he does about them. It may not sound interesting, but it is a great book. The "Rodrick Rules" part is written probably because it focuses a bit more on Rodrick's effect on Greg's life.

Well, the main theme of Diary of a wimpy kid (my autobiography) is that it's a diary, of a wimpy kid. Kinda hard to describe it, but the again, that's just everyone's opinion. Do you like looking at yourself in the mirror whilst singing the my little pony theme song? Then again, that's just everyone's opinion.
